The expo aims to enhance international defence cooperation, strengthen defence external affairs, and build trust between Vietnam and other nations. It provides a platform to share defence policies and strategies, promote the defence industry, and create opportunities for participating countries and enterprises to exhibit products, explore partnerships, and expand collaboration.
This year’s expo focuses on advancing cooperation in defence industry technologies, diversifying procurement and technology transfer channels, and exploring global trends in weapons and technical equipment. It will showcase Vietnam’s defence industry capabilities, including opportunities to export Vietnamese-made defence products.
The event will feature combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons and equipment for the navy, army, air defense and air force, cyber warfare, and logistical supply. Vietnamese exhibitors will be agencies and units from the Ministry of National Defence, such as the General Department of Defence Industry, the Air Defence - Air Force Service, the Naval Service, the Military Technical Academy, the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, the Armored Corps, the Chemical Corps, and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel).
According to Major General Le Quang Tuyen, the weapons and technical equipment showcased at this year’s event will surpass those presented at the expo in 2022.
Taking places at the same time with activities in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People Defence Festive Day, the expo has already received official registrations from 42 international delegations. Nearly 200 exhibitors from 27 countries across ASEAN, Asia, Europe, and the Americas have registered to participate in the event. The indoor display space is doubled to 15,000 sq.m while the outdoor display space is expanded to over 20,000 sq.m compared to 2022.
Special highlights will include an opening ceremony featuring a flyover by the Vietnamese air force, a performance by the commando forces, and demonstrations by military service dogs of the Border Guard Command. Additionally, cultural displays, exhibitions on the achievements of the Vietnam People's Army, and presentations of military digital transformation projects will also be part of the event. The expo will open to the public free of charge from 1:00 p.m. on December 21 until the end of December 22.
