Visa Requirement
According to regulations, foreigners entering Vietnam must possess a valid passport (or travel documents in lieu of a passport) and are required to have an entry visa issued by a competent Vietnamese authority, except for cases of visa exemption.To save your cost and time for a Vietnam visa, you should strictly follow the steps below:

The following is the list of procedures and required documents for a Vietnam visa application, applicable to nationalities not eligible for visa exemption. You can find more details at: List of Vietnam Visa-Exempt Countries.
Vietnam visa requirements – Documents for getting a Vietnam visa:
1. Passport: valid for at least 6 months following your arrival date to Vietnam and have at least 2 blank pages for immigration stamps. A temporary passport may not be accepted.
2. Visa Approval Letter: Required if you plan to obtain your visa at Vietnam's international airports.
3. Photo: two (2) passport-sized photos (4×6 cm) and must be taken recently without glass-wear. Check detailed Vietnam visa photo requirements.
4. Visa application form: Immigration Entry and Exit Application Form for Vietnam visa on arrival.
5. Vietnam visa fees: Payable upon arrival at Vietnam's airports.
Notes:
If you are visiting Vietnam for special purposes (other than tourism), you may need to provide additional documents for your visa-on-arrival application.
Travelers who transit through Vietnam airport should check the airlines for Vietnam visa requirements;
Foreigners and Vietnamese nationals holding foreign passports are eligible for a visa exemption to enter, exit, or reside on Phu Quoc Island for a stay of up to 30 days, provided they arrive in Vietnam (via sea or air) directly from another country.
This exemption also applies to travelers who enter through an international border gate in Vietnam and remain in the transit area before continuing their journey to Phu Quoc Island.
In case you are granted visa-free access to Vietnam, you just need a passport with at least 6 months of validity following your date of entry into Vietnam.
The visa approval letter is valid at the airport only. So if travelers enter Vietnam by land or cruise, they can apply for a Vietnam visa via the local embassy.
