Vietnam International Defence Expo 2026: Training for liaison officers and interpreters serving international delegations
On the morning of June 22, in Hanoi, the opening ceremony of the training course for liaison officers and interpreters serving the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2026 took place.
In attendance were comrades appointed as liaison officers and interpreters from agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defence and military academies and schools. Instructors are experienced cadres currently working at the General Department of Defense Industry, the Military Security Protection Department/General Department of Politics, the Foreign Relations Department/Ministry of National Defence, and the State Protocol Department and Foreign Affairs Interpretation/Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Major General Nguyen Duy Minh delivered the opening speech at the training course.
Speaking at the opening of the training course, Major General Nguyen Duy Minh, Deputy Director of the Foreign Relations Department/Ministry of National Defence, Head of the Protocol Subcommittee under the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2026, said that, implementing the policy of the Party and State on strengthening and expanding defense cooperation with countries, the Ministry of National Defence organized two editions of the Vietnam International Defence Expo in 2022 and 2024, which were evaluated by domestic and international public opinion as a very great success.

At the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024, we welcomed 66 international delegations who were leaders of the Ministry of National Defence and militaries of 39 countries; 242 domestic and international enterprises participating in exhibiting products at the expo; and over 300,000 visitors attending the expo.
The service for international delegations was implemented thoughtfully and respectfully, leaving a good impression on the leaders of the Ministry of National Defence, militaries of various countries, and international friends.

Representatives of the General Department of Defense Industry introduced the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2026.
The Vietnam International Defence Expo 2026 is expected to welcome many high-ranking leaders of the Ministry of National Defence and militaries of countries from multicultural and multilingual continents; along with many large defense industry enterprises, companies, and corporations in the world to exhibit their products. Therefore, the organizational work needs to reflect the image of a peaceful, developing, hospitable, friendly Vietnam that is deeply imbued with national identity, in which protocol and interpretation work serving international delegations holds an important position and role, contributing significantly to the success of the expo.

Overview of the training course.
At this training course, the liaison officers and interpreters are lectured on topics including: Introduction to the expo and the significance of the expo in the foreign affairs activities of the country and the Military; general regulations on ensuring security and safety, the coordination and cooperation of liaison officers and interpreters with forces on duty to ensure security and safety for the expo's activities; overview and experience in foreign affairs protocol and points to note in protocol work and organization to serve the expo; duties and responsibilities of accompanying/liaison officers and interpreters, and experience in handling situations at the expo.
