Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam attends the opening of the IDEB 2026 Defense Exhibition in Slovakia
At the invitation of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam—led by Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defense—paid a working visit to Slovakia and attended the Bratislava International Defence and Security Exhibition (IDEB) 2026.
On the morning of May 12 (local time), the Vietnamese delegation attended the opening ceremony of IDEB 2026 in the capital city of Bratislava. The event was attended by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Robert Kaliňák.

IDEB is a biennial event hosted by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior of Slovakia. IDEB 2026 takes place from May 12 to 14 at the Incheba Exhibition and Convention Center in the capital Bratislava.
This is one of the key defense exhibitions in Central and Eastern Europe, focusing on the defense industry, homeland and civil security, as well as international cooperation and defense diplomacy.

According to the organizing committee, IDEB 2026 features 150 enterprises from 17 countries within and outside Europe, showcasing more than 250 pieces of advanced military and security equipment.

At IDEB 2026, Slovakia's DMD Group debuted the new-generation ShKH EVA M3 6×6 self-propelled howitzer, the SAM120 self-propelled mortar system, and the CPV II mobile command vehicle—a trio of equipment that showcases the strategic direction of the Slovak defense industry.
EVPÚ introduced its new-generation TURRA 30 V10 remote-controlled turret. Meanwhile, the BARAK MX multi-mission air and missile defense system brought to the exhibition by Israel also attracted significant public attention. It is widely regarded as one of the most advanced air defense solutions in the world today.

During the exhibition, visitors to IDEB 2026 have the opportunity to witness demonstrations featuring the UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter and the Spartan transport aircraft; an armed crime-fighting display by a special police unit under the Slovak Ministry of Interior; robotic explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and drone strike demonstrations by the Slovak Armed Forces; as well as performances by Slovak special forces and close-quarters combat units.
