The Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024 Attracts Many International Delegations and Foreign Enterprises

On April 20th, the Promotion Conference for the Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024 was held in Hanoi to attract and solicit sponsorship interest from enterprises and units for the event.

Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Head of the Organizing Committee for the Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024, attended and spoke at the conference.

The conference also saw the presence of Lieutenant General Hồ Quang Tuấn, Director of the General Department of Defence Industry and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee for the Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024, along with leaders from various agencies, units, and enterprises both within and outside the military.

Overview of the Promotion Conference for the Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024

Taking place from December 19th to 22nd, 2024, at Gia Lam Airport (Long Bien, Hanoi), the Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024 is themed “Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Mutual Development” and features numerous diverse and attractive activities.

The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Defence, aims to share achievements, experiences in research, production, and utilization of weapons and technical equipment, and to strengthen cooperation in the field of defence industry between Vietnam and participating countries.

Remarks by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan

At the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan noted that the Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024 coincides with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the People's National Defence Festival. This is a particularly significant event, marking the development and maturity of the Vietnam People's Army in general and the Vietnamese defence industry in particular.

The Viet Nam Defence Expo provides an international platform that allows Vietnamese enterprises to gain experience, improve production capacity, enhance competitiveness for product export, and integrate into the global supply chain, thereby generating revenue for the country and businesses.

The exhibition reflects Vietnam's independent, self-reliant foreign policy of integration, multilateralization, and diversification of relationships, positioning Vietnam as a friend and a reliable partner to all nations.

Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of National Defence Industry, introduced some main activities at the Exhibition.

Up to now, the Viet Nam Defence Expo 2024 has confirmed the participation of more than 40 companies from 19 countries and territories. Additionally, over 40 potential companies and other partners are continuing to exchange information. The Ministry of Defence also plans to invite over 120 international delegations from 50 countries, including 35 Ministers of Defence invited by the Vietnamese Minister of Defence.

Delegates at the Conference

Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defence Industry, highlighted some key activities at the exhibition, noting that the opening ceremony will feature a welcoming flyover by the air force and demonstrations by special forces. The exhibition will showcase booths displaying and introducing defence and security products from defence industry companies, including those researched and manufactured by Vietnam, and prominent, modern weapons and technical equipment in the inventory of the Vietnam People's Army.

In addition, the exhibition will include exchange activities to promote cooperation between agencies, units, and enterprises; technical military seminars; activities showcasing the integration of economic achievements with defence; and performances highlighting Vietnam's unique culture and arts.
